*******
Review.
Yes! I
am back with those-long-forgetting-promises about writing more book reviews. As
I was busy with my own life *cough*. Graduated from university. Continued my
study as postgraduate student. Thesis process. Worked as assistant at university.
And wham! Here I am. Hehehe
Honestly,
I read the hell a lot of book for the past, umh, 3 years? 4 years? Who’s
counting? But I got no time to write the review! *cry*
But,
here I am. Posted about the newest book I just read!
First thing
first.
Who is
the fan of Percy Jackson??? Raise your hands up! xD
Me, myself
is a fan of Percy Jackson! Read all of his adventures on Percy Jackson and The
Olympian series and The Heroes of Olympus Series.
So the
book I am reviewing now was an official Rick Riordan companion book.
I guessed
there were a lot of Percy Jackson fan who asked Riordan to write about Camp
Half-Blood.
This book
wasn’t a novel. But more like stories about what Camp Half-Blood looks like in
real life (just imagine the camp was real!).
Told to
you by the other campers, including a satyr.
It
told you about the details on Camp. Like, the cabins, the forest, the border
where the Thalia pine tree stood as well the dragon Peleus and Athena
Parthenos. Told you about the training grounds, and the strawberries field as
well!
For you
who were familiar with demigods story, you might curious about how does the
camps look like. How about the grounds, the cabins, and so on, and so on.
Brought
to you by Rick Riordan on his usual style in stories telling.
For me,
it was a pretty light reading material. I bought as I need book to spend my
free time as I was moved out from Jogja.
What I
like from Riordan’s works was… He always prepared himself about the real history
about Greece god and goddesses. And his style. I love the way he threw out the
jokes. In this book, he referred the campers as first person (I don’t know how
to put it well). As if the campers themselves told us about their daily life as
demigod and a camper.
While I
read Riordan’s novels, I learned about Greece and Roman gods and goddesses
history as well. I love history, by the way. Hehehe
If you
curious bout Camp Half-Blood, read this book!
I,
myself, are going to read Riordan’s newest series. The Trial of Apollo series. Hehehe
See you
on another post!
